Forex Robot Comparison: Kestrel and the Alternatives
This forex robot comparison is built on one rule: nothing enters a table unless the vendor published it on a page we read on a stated date, and the account behind every number is labelled real, verified or demo. Kestrel's own figures are simulations, and they sit in their own column.

Compared by published drawdown
Two pages take the whole field at once. Best Forex EA 2026: Expert Advisors Compared by Drawdown is the table: every record we could read, sorted by the deepest drawdown its vendor publishes, with the account type beside it. Do Forex Robots Work? An Honest Answer With Data is the same evidence read as an argument, including what breaks the expert advisors that fail.
How we compare
We compare on published drawdown and on how long each record runs, not on claims. A figure without a date and a source does not go in a table, and a simulated number is never placed in the same column as a verified one.
Every competitor figure carries the day the vendor’s page was read. Ours carry the feed, the period and the word simulated.
Compare with a named expert advisor
Three vendors come up often enough to have their own page, each read from its own account pages: Forex Flex EA vs Kestrel Expert Advisor (nine real accounts against a simulation), Forex Fury vs Kestrel Expert Advisor (two vendors without a verified real account) and Waka Waka EA vs Kestrel Grid Expert Advisor (the longest verified grid record next to ours).
What to check before buying
That rule has a cost we accept: Kestrel leads none of these tables today, because a sixteen-year simulation is weaker evidence than a verified account running since 2018. Kestrel EA is a grid expert advisor for MetaTrader 4: it opens from its own signal, adds to the basket in small, capped steps when price moves against it, and closes the whole basket together at its target. What it publishes is the worst case of every portfolio with its date — worst floating loss −€2,788 on 21 August 2024 for EURUSD Patient (2010–2025, simulated) — and the recommended capital that worst case assumes, which is the part a buyer can act on before anything is bought.
Like the kestrel that hangs still in the wind, we hold the same position on every page: the figures first, the adjectives nowhere.

Frequently asked questions
How are these comparisons made?
From the vendors' own public account pages, read on a stated date: Myfxbook profiles and MQL5 signals. Review blogs were used only to locate the accounts, never as a source of figures.
Why is drawdown the main criterion?
Because growth percentages are not comparable between accounts that take deposits and withdrawals, and because the deepest fall informs the capital an account should carry if the same episode comes back.
Does Kestrel come out ahead in these comparisons?
Not on evidence. Its figures come from a simulation and a demo forward test, while several of the records compared here are verified real accounts running since 2018. The pages say so in each table.
